The Howard de Walden Estate is exploring opportunities to improve the public realm of Portland Place with Urban Designers Publica, traffic consultants NRP, and Westminster City Council.

We would welcome your thoughts on how to progress the design and your feedback will help guide the development of our proposals. Our aim is to build on Westminster City Council’s plans to improve safety for cyclists and bring some much-needed green space to the area.

The scheme seeks to:

• Improve safety for pedestrians and cyclists
• Retain existing traffic and parking functions
• Create a green corridor that connects to Regent’s Park
• Enhance the street’s distinctive historic character
• Create welcoming spaces with opportunities for respite and dwelling
• Prioritise sustainable street design through the incorporation of sustainable urban drainage systems
