Merry Marylebone Christmas Lights - Celebrity

The 2021 Christmas lights were switched on by celebrity duo, father and son Martin and Roman Kemp!

Singer, actor and all-round legend Martin, and Capital Breakfast Radio host and broadcaster Roman, switched on the lights on the main stage at 6pm.

We felt the pair were the perfect fit for our chosen charity partner, Mind in Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster, having both openly spoken about depression and mental health, recently exploring this in Roman's award nominated BBC Three documentary 'Our Silent Emergency'.

The duo were joined by host, local resident and BBC London's Radio presenter Jo Good. Along with performances from local school choirs and up and coming acts, Dance Lessons, Laura-Jayne Hunter and Charlotte Campbell.

People enjoyed a variety of food, drinks and gift stalls, roaming musicians, free fashion illustrations, a charity tombola, Christmas wreath making on Marylebone Lane, snow machines, mulled wine and much more!

Many of the Marylebone Village retailers also offered exclusive in-store promotions and discounts of up to 20% for one day only!

This event which was organised and funded by The Howard de Walden Estate raised funds for Mind in Brent, Wandsworth and Westminster throughout the evening, If you wish to make a donation please visit their JustGiving page.
