Supply Chain Sustainability Event

This week, we hosted our Supplier Sustainability Engagement Event to launch our new Sustainable Procurement Policy.

On Tuesday, we hosted our first Supply Chain Sustainability Event at Elmtree, our flexible workplace offering at the newly refurbished building at 32 Welbeck Street. The event marks a key milestone in our commitment to engaging and collaborating with our supply chain on sustainability.

We welcomed over 50 companies representing a cross-section of our supply chain, where we outlined our evolving sustainability expectations and highlighted the vital role our suppliers will play in helping us achieve our net zero and broader sustainability goals.

The event also served as the official launch of our Sustainable Procurement Policy, which sets out clear business expectations and ensures that we prioritise partnerships with suppliers who share and support our vision for a sustainable future. The policy reflects our commitment to meeting customer needs by sourcing products and services that deliver the best quality and value, while considering the environmental, social, and ethical impacts throughout the product or service lifecycle.

The event featured an insightful panel discussion with industry leaders, including:

  • Steve Malkin, CEO of Planet Mark
  • Kerry Stares, Partner & Director of Responsible Business at Charles Russell Speechlys
  • Kirsten Elder, Partner at Scotch Partners
  • Simon Tranter, Head of Sustainability, The Howard de Walden Estate

The panel shared valuable perspectives on the business case for sustainability and the opportunities for suppliers who align with these goals.

Key takeaways from the day:

  1. Collaboration is key to success – Over two-thirds of our carbon emissions come from our supply chain. Only through collaboration and shared innovation can we deliver on our net zero commitment.
  2. Building the foundation for long-term partnerships – Suppliers who embrace our sustainability goals and demonstrate progress will be the ones we prioritise for future partnerships.
  3. No time to waste – Action is needed now. We need measurable change, and we cannot afford to delay.

This event marks the beginning of a journey. We will continue to engage with our supply chain, providing guidance and support to drive meaningful chance.
