Howard de Walden completes new medical lettings
Moorfields Private Eye Hospital and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust Private Care take up more space in prime Marylebone locations.
The Howard de Walden Estate is pleased to have completed two new signings with Moorfields Private Eye Hospital (formerly the London Claremont Clinic) and Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust Private Care, as occupier demand for prime medical space remains very strong.
Moorfields Private Eye Hospital, which forms part of the private division of Moorfields Eye Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, has signed a lease at 60 Wimpole Street. This builds on the space at 50-52 New Cavendish Street it already occupies on the Estate.
Speaking about the facility, Andrew Robertson, director of private care, commented: “Moorfields is world-renowned as a centre of excellence for ophthalmic care, and we are delighted to have extended our services in the heart of London’s clinical district. This fully refurbished building, with its laser eye surgery suite, operating theatre and consulting rooms provides patients with more choice when accessing private services and treatments.”
The Howard de Walden Estate, working closely with Sonnemann Toon architects, comprehensively refurbished the building to deliver a modern, self-contained medical building benefitting from a brand-new lift and full level access, new mechanical and electrical systems, and a mixture of open plans spaces for diagnostics suites and consulting rooms.
At 79 Wimpole Street, Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust Private Care has expanded its footprint, taking up 4,261 sq ft of space next to Royal Brompton’s facility at 77/78 Wimpole Street. Combined, the clinics which are all now part of St Guy’s and St Thomas’ Trust Private Care cover c.15,500 sq ft of space, offering world-class specialist care services to patients.
