Hale House, flagship HealthTech development

Hale House, launched in partnership with Spacemade, opens its doors and welcomes its first tenants - including UCLPartners.

The development provides state-of-the-art dry lab facilities, as well as flexible work and amenity space. This £52m investment spans three buildings, located in Portland Place W1, and will create a new hub for London HealthTech.

The Howard de Walden Estate today announces the opening of Hale House, its new state-of-the-art HealthTech development, situated in the Harley Street Health District.

Hale House provides flexible work and amenity space, as well as offering dry lab facilities. It is a highly dynamic space, designed to cultivate innovation, encourage collaboration, and drive solutions to improve healthcare.

Occupying three distinguished buildings, across a total of 38,000 sq ft, Hale House aims to be a London hub for HealthTech companies, investors and venture capital firms.

Launched in partnership with Spacemade, the UK’s fastest-growing flexible workspace operator, Hale House is equipped with private offices, coworking space, meeting rooms and dedicated event space. Members will also benefit from the latest media production facilities, an onsite café, wellness room, yoga studio and open garden.

In line with Howard de Walden’s commitment to excellence in design, social impact, and sustainability, Hale House has been designed to achieve BREEAM Excellent, NABERS 4.5, and Fitwel certifications, The redevelopment work, including the installation of smart sensors to amenity spaces and PVs at roof level, will lead to a 67% reduction in energy consumption.  

The launch of Hale House underscores Howard de Walden’s continued commitment to strategic investment in world class healthcare and innovation. It was also planned to coincide with the launch of the Harley Street Health District - recently re-branded from the Harley Street Medical Area. The repositioning signifies an evolution in Howard de Walden’s healthcare strategy - reflecting the transition from traditional reactive healthcare to emerging models of patientcare that is proactive and tech-enabled model.

UCLPartners will be an anchor occupier at Hale House, situated on the first floor at 76-78 Portland Place. UCLPartners is the largest of the UK’s health innovation partnerships, at the forefront of transforming healthcare through collaboration, and patient-focused innovations.
