Broadband to be installed for all residents

Howard de Walden is the first major Central London landlord to offer ultra fast fibre broadband as part of residential rental package

The Howard de Walden Estate has signed a deal with G.Network which makes us the first major London landlord to provide full-fibre broadband connection as a standard feature for our residential occupiers. The Estate encompasses 850 residential properties across 92 acres of London’s Marylebone.

Residents will enjoy some of the fastest broadband speeds available in the capital, delivering 900 megabits per second (Mbps) download and upload. Current average download speeds in the area are approximately 31.9 Mbps so the upgrade means speeds will increase by a factor of nearly 30. The connections come with a router and no data caps as standard.

David Sangster, Managing Director at G.Network, commented: “We’ve been working for several years to install our full-fibre infrastructure across the Marylebone area, including the properties owned by Howard de Walden.

“Our strong partnership means that we could quickly roll out this infrastructure upgrade, which will be really beneficial to hundreds of Howard de Walden customers. With so many people working or studying from home at the moment, the upgrade will enable this even more.”

Tracey Hartley, Head of Residential at The Howard de Walden Estate, commented: “The residential landscape is changing with homes in central London locations becoming increasingly sought-after as people seek to switch from long commutes in favour of being closer to where they work, and also having access to great amenities.

“This will also require landlords to offer a broader range of services. Our new partnership with G Networks is indicative of our commitment to giving our customers the best service in one of London’s most vibrant neighbourhoods.”

G.Network has already began works across the Estate in order to complete the upgrade. The company has a strong presence in the area, having focused its initial roll-out across parts of Westminster. It has now expanded its focus to other areas such as Kensington and Chelsea, Camden, Lambeth, Islington, Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Hammersmith and Fulham.
